Motorific T-Bird Conversion — Full-On American Graffiti Cool!
 
Every Motorific conversion is a trip, but this one’s pure street machine magic! Straight outta American Graffiti, this T-Bird's got all the right vibes. Got a video up too — check it out! This T-Bird’s ripping around with the slot car gang, and there’s an epic 4-way crash caught in slo-mo at the 32-second mark. You gotta see it to believe it!
The mail lady dropped this beauty off a few days back, and I didn’t waste any time. Hammered out the conversion over the weekend — keeping it clean, lean, and mean, just like a proper boulevard cruiser. Wheels tucked in tight for that low-slung look!
Hit the parts bins and scored a set of diecast rims that had the right attitude. Little slicing and dicing, and bam — instant Cragar mag style! Fits the look like a glove.
The Ideal Motorific bodies have killer detail — real sharp stuff. They remind me a lot of the Aurora T-Jets — you know the drill: one chassis fits all, sometimes the proportions get funky. But not here. They nailed the T-Bird. Lines, stance, the whole deal — dead on.
Laid down some fresh chrome on the bumpers with chrome pen, stripped off the tired old number decals, and wiped away five decades of dust and grime. Now it shines like it just rolled outta Mel’s Drive-In!

Can see below- had to remove 50 years of crust and the ugly factory sticker had to go! Retro fitted and modded a current 1/43 slot car chassis and no cutting or altering of the body.
 
Tucked all the wheels and tires under nicely and the Little T-Bird goes around the track as a real race car!
